A little help please

Today our fridge (Norcold 2118X) died on us. Power has been established at the plug as good. Inline fuse behind vent has tested good. The limit switch is not lit. Door screen is blank so no codes. Could it be the inverter? Or the fridge itself? Any suggestions as to where to start from where I left off? Thanks

I'm not familiar with the Norcold but assume it is similar to the Dometic. You must have 12vdc at the control board even if you are running it in AC mode. That's where I'd start.

Yep, checked this morning and I've got 13.4V at the battery, same at the fuse panel. And where is the inverter on these beasts. Can you tell I'm fairly new at this?

Hah, thanks. Was a little stressed when I wrote it and missed it completely.

The limit switch in the video does not have it's red light lit and the screen on the fridge is blank, no codes, no power.

Check it at the control board at the back of the refrig. Often accessible by removing the bottom refrigerator vent on the exterior of the 5'er. Since it is not a residential refrigerator, I doubt that you have an inverter for the frig.

In the Files Section (second thin brown ribbon near the top), under Manuals is a Norcold Service Manual (it says 121x but is actually covers all including the 2118x).
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=72
Page #9 talks about the need for 12V and where to check for it.

OK, found the issue. On the control panel on the outside behind the panel I found a blown fuse and things are back to normal. Well.....as normal as can be expected. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Fuse

Search the forums, I had this same issue and there is a service paper that this is a known issue and to replace the fuse with a higher amp one....I think it was a 3 amp fuse being replaced with a 5 amp.

I hope you got your issue resolved. Our Norcold completely lost power when we first got our 3820fk. Through a forum search, I found another person had the same issue. They stated that when their ceiling vent in the kitchen was turned on high, the Norcold would lose all power. We had our camper at the dealer trying to figure out why ours went out when I read this. We went to the dealer, the techs couldn't get the Norcold to lose power and were at a loss. Before we left, we went and turned the ceiling vent on high. Low and behold the Norcold lost all power. When the fan was turned down or off, the Norcold came back on. We went and got the techs and showed them. They discovered the ceiling vent and the Norcold were on the same wiring (the fridge should be on its own). They then knew what to do, and we haven't had an issue with that again. That was 6 years ago.
