Screen Door
Some where awhile back I read a post about a fix for the screen door so that it will open with the main door, ours will not stay latched to main door, have adjusted the latch and replaced it and still have the problem of the screen door staying in place when main door opened.
any quick fixes out there
thanks

When mine does that it's usually because the screen door has sagged enough and it catches on the threshold and stays there. I just pull up on the side and it's good for quite awhile. They are kind of flimsy. This has happened on every 5th wheel I've owned over the years.

I think 49Merc (great car, by the way!) got it. It's probably an alignment/adjustment problem. There is a catch on the inside of the main door that "catches" the latch from the screen door. That seems to be what holds them together. If yours is out of alignment you can try adjusting by loosening screws and resetting it. Or do it 49Merc's way. Lift it to realign it. I confess to having used his method myself.

sreigle, Jimmy Dean and me. I had the 49 mercury in high school. Wish I had it now. It got me into more trouble but I had a lot of fun with it.

My first one was a '57 Chevy. I wish I had it now, too.

Allen in MT, I have to apologize to you. I just re-read your post and realized what I told you you have already tried. Sorry.
The latch that latches the screen door to the main door is so simple I'm having trouble visualizing why yours isn't working. Can you give us some more clues? Thanks.

I agree with Steve after going out and looking at my door. I was thinking that if the scrrn door was catching on something that it would pull away from the door. But after looking at mine if the sceen door is latching I don't see how it wouldn't open with the door. I think I would break it if I tried to pull them apart. I have had the spring in the handle break and then it can jiggle loose very easily. I'm not sure if you have replaced the catch and the handle assembly.
