Don & Joy, WOW . Your pictures should help prove your insurance claim. So glad you weren't in it.

We (here in N. California) are supposed to be getting hit with a couple more storms, but supposedly not as fierce as the last one. We never lost power at our house, but over half our town was without power for 2 days. Anyways, we'll keep our fingers crossed that you come out on top of this with minimum hassle.

And I thought being without power for 30 hours was bad. We used our Montana to take showers while the power was off and was happy to have it there. We are sorry for your loss, but as you said it is just stuff. As much as we hate to have to replace the stuff, things could have been worse and thankfully it was not for you and your family.

So sorry for the damage to your Montana. Everyone is right, it is "a thing" and things can be replaced. Hopefully you all will be in a new Montana soon.

So sorry for your misfortune, but glad no one was injured.

This is the kind of topic that makes us all aware of our volunerability if we are in our Montana during a storm. We have a weather alert radio which we always keep on when we are staying in the Monty. If we get any storm warnings we head for the nearest shelter, usually a bath house or club house in a campground. We had a tornado warning here in early December and there were only three units where folks had gone to the nearest bathhouse (all of us had weather alert radios). Fortunately we were spared, but certainly made us thankful for our weather radio.

Oh, my, that is one big pine tree and it caused BIG damage, too. We, too, are so thankful that you weren't in the rig so everyone is safe. And we're sorry for all the trouble this big storm has caused to our Montana family. We hope everyone is safe.

So sorry for your Monty loss, but thank goodness it hit an unoccupied house on wheels, instead of your stick house. Hubby was looking at your pictures and made the comment that he had a house that he adjusted that cut a house in half. Hopefully, you will have an adjuster that will be helpful getting you back on your wheels soon. Not sure if you have personal stuff in the RV, but as mentioned before if that gets damaged your homeowners insurance could help pickup part of that tab. Extended coverage from your policy various from state to state.

Stuff is stuff, but I get attached to my stuff. Sorry this happened to you.

Your pictures just make me want to cry. I know that I would have if this had happened to ours. So glad that noone was injured in this. Isn't Mother Nature something? So powerful and mighty. Best of luck with the insurance company and having her replaced!

Sorry for your loss. I grew up in Paradise and never did we have a storm like that. I may PM you about your parking shed. We made it through 100 + mph winds in our Monty. They can take the wind but not falling trees.

Our town officials are trying to get Paradise declared a disaster area, although I am not sure how that will affect us.

WOW, WOW and WOW! Thank God you two didn't go out there for coffee!
I guarntee seeing those pictures will make me rethink riding out a thunder storm in the camper next season at the lake. The lodge may still be good for something afterall.

Don, good luck on your recovery efforts. Was that Pine tree on your property or your neighbors?

My brother-in-law in Statesville NC had a tremendous Oak fall from a storm, and damaged an unoccupied area of an apartment complex to the rear of his property. Although different in some sense from yours, the insurance company did pay however, adjusted some costs due to the fact that his Oak was diseased as it was inspected by the appraiser's tree expert. So blessed that you nor your wife were injured. Dennis

Oh my gosh - and to think I worry about tree sap on the roof! So very glad no one was in it. The Monty can be replaced, but how sad you won't be able to recover all of that work you did inside Nailbender!
