2019 373RD tire wear

We have a 2019 373RD that we have what I believe as premature tire wear on the rear axle. The inside of both tires are the rear axle are worn to the point to which I am going to replace them. There is approx 2500 miles on the unit. Also, the rear axle tires are almost to the wear bars and the front axle is in good shape. Tire pressures are monitored and at recommended pressure. Considering going up to Goodyear G614's but concerned about the rims due to the higher pressures. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Need an alignment and axle adjusted. More than likely the wheel is rated for 110psi. If it has metal valve stems more than likely it is high pressure. the best way to be positive is to pull wheel off hub and it will be stamped on the inside. G614 or Sailun are my choice depending on the deal.

I agree take it to a good alignment shop not your dealer and have axles aligned.

Also used the 85 series not 80 series - 1" bigger on diameter / 1/2" coach height. Pick up 400 lbs of additional carry capacity (appx - added insurance)

Are you riding "nose high" on your trailer? That will put extra weight and more axle bend on the rear axle and cause the condition you're describing.
Check if your rear tires are tipped inward at the top when hitched and parked going straight.

too many angles to really tell. Where do you check level? Bottom of slide or kitchen floor?

I've only checked by eye. When i pin it in the garage I can put a level on the frame to confirm.

Consider having wheel bearings repacked. Usually they are good but it was the first place I took mine. Best $150 ever spent, I use a trailer repair shop so I know it's don correctly. One of four was too light for my piece of mind.

How many miles did you have on the unit before you started to need to address these issues?

I would raise the wheels off the ground and check them for excessive play. I would guess they are fine. The wear you described is likely an axle alignment issue.

Trailers have been using the horse and buggy suspensions for a 100+ years. They are woefully inadequate for today's heavy trailers.

The only real fix is the Mor Ryde IS or something like it.

Just had the IS installed 3 weeks ago and traveled with an empty cup on the kitchen counter for 1200 miles and it hardly moved.

Either the axle camber on the rear axle is out of spec or both wheel bearings are not properly installed...raise rear tires and grab tire at 6 and 12 positions and jerk back and forth... should be no movement felt

Ive got a good 15K miles on set of G rated tires and they look like new with even tread wear from inner to outer rib

The stock OEM Dexter 7K axle suspension system is just fine if properly maintained

I beg to differ Chuck. When Mor ryde removed my axles and Springs the bronze bushings in the wet bolt kit I had just put in eight thousand miles ago were completely worn in half. That was the second set of those and they were well greezed trust me

The wet bolt kit merely buys a few extra miles out of spring bushings. Just finished inspecting/lubing mine. Three came out in pieces. Just because grease is applied it doesn't guarantee that grease goes through the entire bushing. Proper lube requires loosening the hangers and seeing where grease flows.

As far as wheel movement, there will be a slight amount. Roller bearings are not torqued if installed correctly.
