Hello ...

Another Bill and Ann from Ontario here ... Bill and Ann Frisbee. New RVers with a 2005 3400RL and 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW tow vehicle. After a "shake down" week at Emerald Lake Campgrounds in Puslinch, ON (about 20 minutes from home), we took our first road trip with the Montana to Shadow Brook Campgrounds in Cooperstown, NY. Managed to cross the border and negotiate some narrow country roads (in addition to the NYS Thruway) without difficulty. Had a great time and love the Montana. Looking forward to exploring MOC ... and North America.

Welcome to MOC! You'll find everything you wanted to know but didn't know who to ask about your Montana (among other things) right here! There's also a lot of fun stuff here too.

Enjoy and don't be afraid to jump right in.

Welcome to another Bill and Ann from Ontario to the MOC family. The more the merrier.

Been on the NY side of Niagra Falls for the past 2 weeks and just this past Friday we were in your neck of the woods. We crossed over the border and took a ride to Fort Erie. Yeah I know that Ft Erie isn't exactly in the neck of the woods to Guelph but had I known we had a new MOC couple in the area I might have dropped in. Of course I wasn't that far from Napanee a couple of weeks ago and didn't stop into see the other Bill and Ann either.

I imagine you crossed the border at Lewiston. Isn't that a thrill? We were in line for nearly an hour.

Anyway, Welcome!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. This is an exciting start to new adventures for us. As a couple of Jeep people, we are still a bit awed by the reality of driving a one-ton, diesel powered truck down the highway with a 37' "building" hooked on behind. But, we are assured by experienced RVers, time will cure that.

Thanks again and we are looking forward to participating in the MOC forum.

Welcome,
You live in a beautiful part of the country. Many of my relatives live just north and east of you in the Fergus, Orangeville area.

Sounds like you are off to a fantastic start to a great adventure. Congratulations on a fine rig. Here's hoping they both serve you well. This is a great forum to get answers to those preplexing issues that arise with any RV. The collective creativity is phenomenal. Just stay tuned and you'll get answers to questions you didn't even know to ask. Happy RVing....

Welcome to the forum Bill and Ann. We will have to cross paths sometime. We live just north of Napanee, Ontario. I am ashamed of you Glenn and Lorraine for not stopping by. I guess this is payback for missing you at Clayton.
See you in Nappannee, In.

Bill, I think most of us have been in the same position as the two of you now find yourselves when dragging that "building" behind you. I know moving from a 28 foot TT to the Montana was a shock to the system, so moving from a jeep to the 5er and the truck must be a massive change. When I was washing the Montana yesterday, I was reminded of the height of that behemoth!

That would be a good name for a Monty. I've heard a lot of people refer to their vehicles as Betsy so you could have Betsy and Behemoth!
Happy trails................

Learning how to properly control and feeling comfortable hauling something the size of the 3400 is a small price to pay for the space and luxury. After a one-week "shake-down" visit at a local RV campground and one long-weekend trip to upstate New York, we are convinced that we made absolutely the right choice. The Monty has already become "home" and, as the recreational abode of fellow Parrotheads, will soon be annointed with the name, "Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude" below the rear window! Can a trip to Key West be far behind?
