“Check Water Heater” on LP

A few days into our current trip the electric water heater stopped heating. The small rocker switch fried in the open position, one is on order. No problem, just run on LP. LP works fine, heats the water then the InCommand shuts it down and displays”Check Water Heater”. The overtemp switches do not trip and I can simply restart the WH is LP mode, same thing. I see the InCommand has a WH status input but I can’t find any documentation explaining its operation. Suggestions are appreciated...

I had the same switch go bad. Took the pop top off a beverage can and using diagonal cutters made a jumper for the two spade endings on the two wires on the switch. Pushed the two spade ends onto the jumper, taped the two wires and the jumper to insulate and went on down the road. When the trip was over replaced the switch.

In the WH troubleshooting manual, (download from the files section of this website) says the water temperature has to be less than 110°F for the gas to kick on. Maybe try running the hot water tank out until its cold, then turn it on.
