3400 storage space

For all of you 3400 (possibly others) owners out there, has it occurred to anyone that there is a good bit of unused dead space above the w/d / pantry?

I was thinking one could frame in an access door in the hall to the rear of the pocket door track. Seems like it would be a pretty sizable storage space aside from whatever the factory did with the wiring running into the panel.

Anyone looked into this?

Thanks in advance,

Todd Grucelski

Todd, Not sure about your 2008 but mine is a total mess up there, wires going everwhere and huges rough cut holes in the side walls and roof, not to mention the back side of the breaker panel.

Not on the 08 Bill. Keystone moved the converter under the stairs in 07.

Must have been the late 07's. Our converter is still "up there" behind the toily room wall.

I think Redrover did it, mine is a tangle of wires, my sat. dish power switch, and a 12 volt power usage meter, oh, and the converter.
If you remove the line voltage power panel, all the wires come out with it, when you replace the panel, you have to be packed back up in that space, so I wouldn't store anything in there, but it can be done.

If you want another free storage area, if you have the fresh air return for the furnace under the step....
