It sounds like much ado about nothing.

I always have on hand a water bag just incase.We do a lot of dry camping for nascar so when he comes by to fill I get my bag out. It holds another 50 gallons just carry a pump and start to pump it in when my other tank goes dry.

They count the gallons as for the weight, not capacity dont forget the water lines also hold water, that might be the 4 gallon difference.

There is a lot of assumptions and misinformation being posted!

So to clear the air here is what Keystone's final word is;
(Pertaining to the Montana and Montana High Country lines)

The "Fresh Water 66gal" in all our spec sheets and else ware, "refers to the fresh water System capacity, and not just the fresh water tank"

I wish I would have known to assume this when shopping for a new 5'vr

The take-a-way on all this IS (with out blinders) Truth in Advertising !!
I checked the brochure for my unit. That is exactly what it says, "Fresh Water Capacity 66 gal". If you dig into the unit specs it says the fresh water tank is 54gal, water heater is 12 gal. Keystone was truthful in their advertising. Pretty sure my trailer has a capacity of 66 gal; (although I have never been so concerned that I measured it) it does not bother me a bit that part of that is in the water heater. You mentioned that the water heater is not a fresh water tank; actually that's exactly what it is; a fresh water tank with a heating element.

I know an attorney that would be happy to accept a $5000 retainer (plus expenses) from you and look into this.

If water was that important then Keystone was not a good choice. Orrrrrr, you can just carry extra water or the containers and forage for it... not a biggie... really. JMHO.

As the demand for more endurance in this area becomes a market force, Keystone will eventually have to meet that demand or lose sales. Again, my 2 cents.

I have been following this thread. Been kinda humorous. If you are running of the fresh water tank (boondocking), I would think you would be in a conservative state. But as that is - I recently had the fresh water tank out of our 353RL. The tank is 50 gal. And almost all would be useable based on in/out connection.
