Question Gen-Y Gooseneck Hitch

I have read the information from Lippert and Keystone regarding the Andersen hitch and citing the Reese Goosebox as acceptable. I have a 2019 Montana 3560RL with an LCI 1116 pin box. With the Reese I would have to go with the 16K model that fits the 1116 which is 600# less than my 3560RL's rating of 16600#. The other option that gives me an 18K hitch rating is the Gen-Y. Apparently, the Reese 20K Goosebox version doesn't fit the 1116 pinbox. Has there been any warranty discussion about the Gen-Y that anyone has heard about?

I received a reply from Reese via E-Trailer, apparently the 1116 pin box is supported for the Reese 20K Gen 2 Goosebox (RP94720) with the use of an adapter (RP61301), so that was helpful. However, my question and interest in feedback on the Gen-Y is still out there if anyone has some experience with it and info from Keystone or LCI. Thanks!

I heard that the Gen-Y was still in testing, not yet approved.

I was told the same when I called Lippert support. That was over a year ago. Don't hold your breath.

I ended up with the 20k Goosebox with the shim kit. Can't complain about it. It's an improvement over the previous generation 16k Goosebox that had the problem air release valve.

As I understand it, you don't gain a lot of bed space with the Gen 2 because of the space it needs to maneuver. What is your experience?

Gen-Y hitch

Has anyone heard any current information on the Gen-Y Gooseneck Hitch?

I found that post too. Thought I would post it on the July 2021 thread regarding that topic to possibly catch those individuals' attention. Surprised that there is no current conversations on the subject. Thanks for replying!

We plan on buying a 3231CK sometime in the next couple of months. Currently, we use an Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch but know we cannot use it on our new Montana as it would void the Lippert/Keystone warranty. And we know who is actually at fault now with all the frame failures that have been showing up However, we will most likely go with the Reese Goosebox as it has been approved by Lippert to be use on their frames. If Gen-Y happens to get Lippert's blessing, then I will certainly consider that hitch instead.

I received a reply from Gen-Y that they currently have one of their Goose neck hitches at Lippert for testing. So it looks like its just a matter of time and we can purchase an approved hitch.

We have seen several Brinkleys in our travels this winter, many of them with Gen y pin boxes. Owners say they need to be broke in. There isn’t the instant gratification of a goose box, but once broke in they say they’re very happy with them.
Seen a couple of Luxe with them also. Apparently you buy them pin weight specific. There are different Gen y pin boxes for different pin weights. I’ve only seen 1 Gen y goose neck. It was on a toy hauler as an owner added mod.
