Upgraded water filter system

I just completed installing a 2 canister filter system . We were using a Camco blue filter and Camco screw on restricting device. What I installed I’d seen on Facebook. I made a couple of changes so it can easily be disassembled. I also added an adjustable regulator to the system. It has a 1 micron sediment filter and a .5 micron carbon block filter. It didn’t seem to affect pressure. This should last longer and clean better than those blue bullets.

That is an extremely nice looking mod!!!! I may copy it. Our previous RV had a 10" whole house filter plus I had a 10" whole house filter mounted on my On-The-Go water softener, now I just have the 10" mounted on the softener.

Great job!

That looks very nice. I have been considering the same type of setup. I purchased the blue Camco filters in bulk, so I'm waiting until those run out. Which filters did you use? They look like the Culligan ones I've seen on Amazon. The only change to your setup I'm considering is getting the clear housing for the canister so I can see when the filter needs changed.

I bought this off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBZ83HH...roduct_details

Total cost of the project was about $160.

Thanks for sharing. I've been working on a similar setup starting with the Camco blue bullet filter with a plan to go with a much better replaceable filter system. My only concern is the weight of the pressure regulator hanging off the inlet port. Looks like your concept supports a lot of that weight.

What kind of tubing and connections did you use?

Another question - is there a reason you didn't put the water pressure regulator before the filters instead of after them? Thanks in advance

Nice job. I use jumbo filter housings and filters from rvwaterfilter store...just not as nice of an install as you did.

I used half inch PEX lines and connections. I also had to use half inch plywood to support the canister system..

This was my thinking….
1 I didn’t want any sediment going through the regulator.
2 I would also have to allow for space & support of the regulator.
3 IMO this was a more simple design.

Do you have another regulator for black tank rinse?

That's a clean installation. We did one similar. It rides on the forward bulkhead for storage then hangs on the frame while in use. Cut to length hoses connect fresh water and black tank rinse. The regulator is for pressure and flow and the spigot is for hand washing.

No. I didn't feel I needed one. I had dropped the belly after the freeze in Feb. From the tank flush connection it's a hose going directly to the tank. I've never experienced any problems.

I like your setup. Especially the faucet for hands or another hose.
