Replacing Sofa
We have a 2008 3465SA and would like to replace the sofa. Does anyone know where we can find a sofa that is 33 inches or less. We would like to move the couch to the back on the camper and only have 33" deep with the slides coming in.

I would like to move the sofa to the back of my RL but couldn't find one that would fit in the space in the back of the camper.

A little over a year ago we needed to replace the chairs at the rear, so measured the space and went to the local furniture store. They had all kinds of catalogs of what we were looking for with all the dimensions. We were looking for wall huggers that would fit, but none were available, but you might get lucky with a stationary sofa, and not a sleeper.

33" is pretty short. You may find one but don't know if you will really want to sit on it. We just replaced the couch in ours this spring and we measured a max of 40" in our slide. It was hard to find a couch that short that was comfortable. We settled on a 42" depth that the feet did not encroach past the slide floor.

A few years ago we put our new sofa in the back and had the clearance problems with the slides too. We solved that problem by laying the sofa on its back with the legs facing forward. Secured the sofa the same way and the slides cleared. Worked for us and was easy to do.

This is a little off subject, but we had some close friends who got rid of their chairs and replaced with a couch. To do this they had the back of their Cardinal 5th wheel removed to get the couch in! I couldn't believe this when they told me, but is somewhat typical of the common sense of these friends. Never said how much this cost to do, but it wasn't cheap and I would worry about potential leaks. About a year later they traded for a motor home.

Can't tell from the pic, but just make sure the cushions are fully pushed towards the rear. Our sofa sits in the back, but there's minimum clearance when the slides come in, so we have to make sure the cushions are fully deated.

We have 2 on clearance for the slides to move. The wife always checks before moving them. That's one of her jobs on set ups and downs.

We replaced our furniture last year after our fridge fire. Went with lazy boy recliners and a sleeper sofa from simplicity sofas in nc. With an air bed. It is an awesome sofa made by real craftsman and not one bad review online. They specialize in small space furniture.
