Question 2017 Montana 3731FL issues

Hi all! Hope your summer is going good. A couple of quick questions about our Montana.

1. Does anyone else have hot air coming out from the vents under the stairs? If so, is this normal or is it something I need to address and how?

2. Our power cord refuses to come out from the plug at the back of the trailer. I can turn it to where it should unplug but is refusing to come out. Anyone else have this problem? Thoughts on a remedy?

Even with these two issues we are still traveling and enjoying the full timer life!

Thanks!!!

You should not have hot air coming out of the the vents under the stairs. those are the fresh air intake vent for the furnace. It mite be you have a heat line that has fallen of or the there is a heat vent under there to keep the water lines from freezing it my be in the wrong spot. you can pull the back wall off in the basement and see all the furnace lines probable not a hard fix. As far as your power cord it sound like something broke in side if you turn it and it pull out. When you turn the head can you see the plug part turn with it? I had that happen to a friend. We had to force it to get it out.

The vents under the stairs are the return air for the furnace. Our old rig had those and I always put black foam board behind them in the summer and took it out in the winter. When I've had a plug that wouldn't come out I've had to wiggle it up and down while pulling backward to get it out. If yours has a ring that screws in on the top, make sure that is all the way unscrewed.

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the venting situation when we get to Oklahoma next week. As far as the power cord, I don't see the base (male) moving. We still have power so when we move I just wrap it around the ladder and zip tie it to the ladder. Rides just fine. I will have it looked at when we get back.

Thanks again for the info!

We had an issue with our plug not coming out last year. Turned out to have been an overheated terminal that caused the plastic to melt on the plug. Had to destroy both parts to separate them. Had to make a run to CW to buy a new receptacle for the rig and a new right angle adapter which is what was plugged in that failed. Wasn’t terribly difficult to replace, but had the tools to do it.

I had trouble removing my cord at first. It still is a bit difficult. But turn it all the way, make sure it is sort of lined up, and wiggle up/down/sideways as you gently pull it out.
Hope it works for you.

We have the 3731 FL and yes while your AC is running you’ll feel the warm air pulling the the stair vents. Do as DQDick said it works just remove before using the furnace.
On your electric cord, it has about a 1/4” turn lock that should be turned counter clockwise to release and then pulled straight out. After unscrewing the keeper ring.
