What color is it?

Anyone know what the décor wood finish color is in the 3400? I need to match it with some stain for a fill in board under the TV. Might be hard to match up, thought somebody might know.

Yours appears to be the same color as my '07 3075RL. I do not remember what the color was supposed to be.
When I did my fireplace mod and later my TV mod, I had to use various coats of Minwax natural, colonial maple, and provential until it came near the original. I put a light coat of one, let it dry, a coat of another, let it dry, a coat of the third, let it dry, and more of one or the other until it matched pretty closely. The coats varied depending on the wood I was using. And I used several types wood from a basic whitewood to red oak. But I managed to get them to near the same final color.

Edit: Here is a picture of the fireplace mod. The mantel and the flat piece under the fireplace are oak. All the trim pieces are various types of wood. All were finished with the method noted above.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
Ours is also honey oak. That was really close. Try a test spot and see.

It’s too late now to call keystone. I went to Lowe’s today and got some stain. “Fruitwood” is what I used on it. Got there and they didn’t have any honey oak so I picked out some guessing from memory; which was a very scary thing. Looks good enough for us!

Since you got your stain solved, can I ask if anyone has attempted to match the 2012 Hickory Edition stain. I made a board to mount some coat hooks on to screw to the bathroom wall. I actually used Hickory wood which matched the grain pattern, but could not get an exact match with Minwax Red Oak #215. I have every Minwax stain in my woodshop and this one was the closest. I'm thinking that the Amish Craftsman may mix their own.
