Propane Detector Fuse Blows When Furnace Starts

When the furnace is switched 'on" the propane detector fuse blows. We are new to all this rv world! Any suggestions?

Your post has been moved to a new Thread as it was inappropriate where it was.

What is a "Propane Detector Fuse"? Are you referring to the propane detector mounted low on a kitchen cabinet? It beeps if it senses propane. It might have a fuse but it beats me where it is. It is powered directly from the battery so there might be an inline fuse in that area. But no one has ever reported a problem with the propane detector (other than when it reaches "end of life").

Ok. I am new at this, and my BF is even newer, but at least he is an engineer and can understand machinery, lol. I dont even know what question I am asking or need to ask...Anyway, long story short...i wrestled the kitchen drawers out, and he fought the battle of Removing the Furnace. So, the whole problem with the furnace was a giant dirt dauber nest was blocking the movement of the furnace 'squirrel cage' and apparently blowing its fuse on the panel. Oddly, the propane detector kept going dead during this time, and we were thinking the two were connected on the furnace fuse somehow. Now our thermostat is not communicating to the Furnace. Hopefully I am using the correct terminology!! Installing the insect screen today. Haha. Thanks!

The factory may have wired your propane detector into the same 12vdc line that the furnace uses. I did not trace out where mine was wired when my detector went end of life and beeped all the time. I just recently had a mud dabber wasp build a home in my furnace exhaust, so I am adding a screen as well. Your issue of the furnace not working with the thermostat could be a now bad circuit board caused by the "frozen" motor or something else. Do you hear the furnace attempt to light if you stand close to it outside? There is a red led on the circuit board that will light and flash a code for certain furnace faults. If either of the two 12vdc wires on the gas valve are off, no gas will be supplied to the burner for it to light. I would suggest removing the outside cover to the furnace, then turn the thermostat to furnace and the temperature set high enough to start the start up sequence while someone is outside to listen to what is going on. If the above doesn't help then there are a couple of other things to consider. First only one of your thermostates will control the furnace, the other will show furnace but it's just there for show and doesn't do anything. Second, the thermostat sends a request for heat to your main AC unit which then sends the signal to the furnace it'self. So the probem could also be in that AC unit's board or the cable that plugs into it.
