Goldwing cayyring

I have 3420 R montana. I know Montana doesn't recommend a rear bracket but occasionly i see custom made ones that look pretty strong. Im not interested in a 3 rd trailer. Has anyone auccessfully made a bracket on the back of a montana to support 1000 ibs ? Also not interested in a hydra lift

hanging that much weight off of the back may take too much weight off the pin

Think of that in the terms of using a cheater bar to increase torque to loosen a tight lug nut. Force times length of lever equals torque force. 100 pounds on a 4 foot bar equals 400 pound-feet of torque on the nut.

1,000 lbs cantilevered ten feet back of the rear axle equals 10,000 pound-feet of torque at that axle. Meaning the frame will be stressed with that downward torque at that point. And that is static. Now add in the 1,000 lbs bouncing down the highway. And that would also be taking weight off the pin as well as reducing your CCC.

When we went full time we had a Goldwing and sold it because I couldn't find a safe way to haul it that I was comfortable using. I spent about six weeks on the project, but that was 11 years ago so maybe something new is out there but I haven't see or heard of it.

Sell the bike, buy a new truck, you'll only miss it for a few weeks, Been there.
