"The Talk"!

I expressed my concerns on the "Fire" thread and wanted to see if others agree with my overly cautious attitude. I call it "The Talk"! Gave it to everyone who stepped on board my boat. Everyone no exceptions! It's a safety and use of systems on the boat lecture. Now I developed two versions! Kids get their own talk which covers things like "RV" respect and how running in and out of RV gets a time-out! Most important point relates to the toilet! It's not a toy or a curiosity. Leaving water running, playing with light switches!

My wife gives me a bad time about this lecture, but I do it with humor and respect to all non RVers visiting us for trip or overnight. I explain safety equipment- location / Use and things like toilet usage and water conservation flashlight locations . Explain gas and its smell, lights and power. Safety escape windows and smoke and gas detectors. Never had an adult not listen. Even things like opening and closing the fridge! . It takes less than 3-5 min. It's for them and more for me! As Captain its your responsibility and it solves lots of problems, especially toilet problems! Anyone else nuts like me! Lol

My kids know the fiver is in no way "Romper Room" for their offspring. They also know most anywhere we RV has its own facilities and how to get there. Lotsa times we just don't mention we're headed out ...

Our RV has a rule. NO Children. No Adults that do not own a RV.

Eliminates the need for any conversations.

Your use may vary.

It is rare that there is anyone but Helen and I on board. But your talk and caution are right on.

YOUR HOME YOUR RULES. My RV sleeps 3, me, DW and Boudreaux, period. However, grandson has lifetime exception to policy waiver.

We go thru everything with the grandkids if they're sleeping over and they know if they don't follow the rules, no more sleep overs.

My biggest toilet rule applies to males only and that is "No standing, sitting only!". Sure makes for a tidy room. John
