Somebody send us some warmth!!!

I love winter, but it is time for it to leave us. Eleven below at the S&B this morning, heat pump will not keep up, oil-filled radiator heater on, electric space heater on, Edenpure heater on, inside temperature 66 degrees!! Ready to implement additional heat plans, as a last resort, will fire up kerosene heater at the house! A foot of snow on the ground, six more inches coming tonight. Sheesh, I am thankful that we have global warming, I cannot imagine what the results would be if we didn't! Hope all the northerners are keeping warm through all of this.

If we could we would but we have been in a cold snap for the last week up here with extreme will chills so we just don't have any heat units to spare.

Couple feet of snow as well but much less than the last two years and overall warmer too so we are good.

Sending some of our 85 degree sunny weather from Arizona your way...after the past 3 years of that kind of winter we are so glad we are not in the northeast any more....
Stay warm....spring is around the corner!

I got up this morning in SW Florida and the first thing that went through my mind was "now where did I stash that extra ceramic heater?".

A balmy 38 degrees in Ft. Myers Beach!

Yup, the 80's in Yuma are nice. Makes me wonder why we signed up for Florida next year. Bet we'll be back to Yuma in 2017. My fear for Bingo and company is that you'll go from winter to summer with no spring and then the flooding will start. Hang in Bingo, Tom and all we're praying for an immediate and slow warmup for you all.

34 here 5 miles from exit 170 in sw florida. Bingo, "global warming" was the misnomer for "climate change" and this the reason you are having that wonderful weather. Try a pellet stove in your house, if you want to be warmer or tell the wife she has to work while you go south for warmth. John

DW has been housebound all week since the schools have been closed, and is definitely getting cabin fever! I have pondered a pellet stove for a couple of years now, and am really thinking hard about it again. My parents had a Buck Stove upstairs and a pellet stove downstairs and they worked super well at keeping hte entire house toasty warm.

We have been hanging around -8 - -10 for the last while. Snow, freezing rain, more snow. The Monty has 3-4 inches of ice around the jacks and tires and 4'iles front and side. Not moving for a while. Going south is on hold.
City of St John has snow piled up 100'. Unreal.

-19F here this morning. Hot water line in the kitchen was frozen, so I thawed it out with a propane torch. Cavalier moaned and groaned starting, but did start. After running for 25 minutes, it still had frost on the windows.

Bingo...you might consider a wood/coal outside water stove....best thing I did for my 110 year old house...warmest winters ever for the last 2 years...have not burned any heating oil for 2 years...and yes...it does warm you twice actually....harvesting and loading the wood and then sitting back to enjoy it...about 12 cords a year...it was -11 here too...but 66 in the house when we woke up...thats what we set it for at night...and 70-72 in the day....love it!....all thats left to need is good beer, good food and your woman!

We had a whopping -17° last night.
As we talked in a PM I’m tired of this cold, ready to get out!

2nd on the wood stove. -5 this am but warm and toasty inside. We have used a lot of wood this winter that hubby prepared last year. Saves big time on the oil bill. We heat about 100% of our home with wood in the winter. If u can't go south it's the next best thing!

Ain't nothing like backing up to a good old stove. We heated until a few years ago with a fire place insert I built. We have a geothermal heat pump now but still miss the stove all except cutting the wood.

Bingo I feel for ya, it's currently snowing/sleeting here in Northern Ky. Have 10"+ of snow on the ground. On the positive side, at 34F outside, it's 47 degrees warmer than it was the other morning! I'm totally over winter! Dea and I are seriously considering moving to Arizona. Warmer climate and MUCH closer to the grandbabies. Tim

We've had heat to come on even with fireplace and ceramic on here on the Gulf. Tired of cold. Not much warmer farther south as Pat and Lynn said. Stay warm! I promise not to complain about the heat this summer!
