Traveling with ice maker & coffee maker on counter top
We are looking at ways to free up cupboard space. We currently keep the ice maker and coffee maker in a cupboard and take it out and put it on the counter top as soon as we reach a campground. I am considering leaving them on the counter top while we travel. I sometimes leave smaller items on the counter top and never have a problem with them moving and falling off but I am nervous about leaving these heavier items out without securing them. Does anyone else travel with larger items on the counter top and if so do you secure them and how do you do it?

There are several things that you can do. You can remove them and put them into a cupboard as you have been doing, but that takes up valuable cupboard space. You can buy sticky pads and they would hold them fast (I have a couple that I use). You can also remove the items and put them into a box or plastic bin while in transit. I have a bunch of these bins that they sell at grocery stores here. They are used instead of bagging your groceries and are very handy.
When we get to our destination, the bin goes into the truck for any shopping we might do. These things have carrying straps and are very neat!
While in transit, the bin rides on one of the recliners or on the couch. I put all the other loose items in there as well, like pictures, decor items, etc.
By the way, I use a check list when we pack up to go, and collect loose items is on the list.

In our rig we have a spot on the floor at the stares to the bedroom where we can set the coffee maker when traveling. The ice maker stays in the basement.

We've had a B&D coffee maker mounted under our one cabinet for over four years, takes up no counter space and has ridden without any problem all that time. When we have our ice maker with us, it rides on the counter next to the stove, again with no problem. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Black-Dec...&wl13=&veh=sem

If your even considering this you travel better roads than I do. Even with IS we've had the large wooden trim piece fall off the large slide and that was from Interstate 40 near Tulsa.

our Keurig rides on the counter next to the stove been riding there since 2012 and thousands of miles . The ice maker rides on one of the dinning chairs in transit.
We also lost the large trim over the kitchen slide on I-95 because they did not install it correctly there were few staples and many of them did not connect with anything.

Our coffee maker rides on the floor next to the dining table in it's original box. We seldom make coffee unless I get in the mood. The DW does not drink it and I see no reason to make a pot for just myself. We do bring it out when we have company for dinner or if we are entertaining. The ice machine sits on the floor at the end of the kitchen island and when we park I put it up on the long counter where the stove is. Works well for us!

Our Keurig sits on a piece of no slip pad in a serving tray which is also on a piece of no slip pad on top of the counter. It has ridden on the counter unfastened in the Montana since July 2015 and before that it rode the same way in an SOB for 5 years without any problems. We have traveled to Alaska and to Arizona without any worries. We don't have an ice maker.

Our Ice Maker rides when traveling and operates when camping on the floor near the rear door in our 3735MK. We do not use the rear door except when going to the refrigerator while stopped at a rest stop. Ice machine has never moved.

My wife's Keurig slid off and landed on the floor. Thankfully it still works. I put to small rings on the wall and bungee it in now when we travel.

Don't know what roads you're traveling, but nothing goes on our counters. The ice maker is stored in the garage and the coffee maker in the sink. Once had the glass plate from the microwave wind up on the floor. A friend of ours had a cake in the microwave. Once landed, they found the cake undamaged on the kitchen table.

We travel thousands of miles on roads all over the country. We do have the Mor Ryde IS and the trailer saver BD3 hitch. Helen bungees all the cabinet doors . The Keurig stays put as does the ice maker.Just lucky I guess.

We travel with our Keurig, portable ice maker and water filter pitcher on the counter all the time. If you are worried about it sliding, Mr. Pachu has hit on the solution. We place everything on the non-slip shelf liner that is available at Walmart and have never had a problem. I do place everything next to each other and put it as far back in the corner as I can. It is doable and definitely saves space! Good luck!

We have a loaded knife block we leave on the counter. We used earthquake putty to hold it in place and it has done well so far after several trips this season on some pretty rough indiana, Ohio, and Michigan roads

Without going through too many extremes, I don't think there is a safe spot to place items on counters. If you are simply traveling the perfect roads and interstates we have then you might get away with it for awhile.
The roads and interstates I travel are not perfect. And now that we are in construction season they are even worse. Then there are the gravel roads. If you never leave pavement disregard. The so called improved roads (gravel, etc) are better than muddy jeep trails, but barely.
I load up the sinks and place the Keurig and Crock-pot underneath the island. My old toy hauler had me replacing all sorts of lids and covers.
We all have our own madness/method.

We do mostly travel interstates, TPK's and fair roads not off road. We have done over 100K and have not lost a coffee maker or ice maker yet. We have over 5K invested in Mor Ryde Is and Trailer saver BD3 hitch to smooth out the ride.
