stove top in new Montana

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the grates on the top of the stove. We have a 2005 - 3400RL and used it from Feb, 5th to April 4 this year. I know that it was level- but the front burner grate is so slick that I was afraid that the pan would slide off. All I had to so is just bump it and away the pan would go. I got so that all I would use were the 2 back burners.

Yes, we had the same problem. I took a piece of sandpaper and took the shine off the top of each one, not the complete coating. It did the job, pans do not slide aroung as easy now.

Haven't noticed that problem with our stove, but thanks for the "heads-up". Will certainly check it out the next time I use the stove. I find myself doing most of our meals with my electric skillet, crock pot, electric steamer/fryer, and microwave. Amazing how little I have actually used the stove.

Guys we have not had that problem. However, the sandpaper idea is a good one for future use.

If you know someone with a plasma cutter, you can have burner tops cut out of 3/16" or 1/4" steel plate. It makes the burner heat more even and will also help on the sliding part if its rough on one side. I used these at work for 15 years and it sure saves on not sticking food to the pans.
