Your GPS Home

I have not been able to verify this information, but I can logically deduce that it is possible. So I pass it on as a security measure and some thing to think about:

"Recently it seems that thieves are looking for cars with GPS units for several reasons, one of which is to see if your address is listed in the “Home” saved location. Most GPS devices have a “Home” option where you can store and easily retrieve your home address without having to retype it every time. Potential burglars figure if they find your car far enough away from your home, then you’re away from home as well making you that much more of a potential target.
Instead of saving your address under the title “Home”, save it under a random name that still points you to your home. Then for “Home” you could put the address of your local law enforcement agency."

Of course, one would also have to think about important papers, like registration, insurance, and the like that may be in the glove compartment.

DOES IT EVER END!!!!!

If you have a Garmin and have Garmin-Loc it would be a good idea to use it and make your driveway the location that the Garmin will unlock. That way the no good blank-blank will have to come to your driveway to get to work other wise all it is is a paper weight.

If the thieves want your stuff, they'll get it. I use the Garmin Lock, so if they do get it, they need the code.

Ron,
Absolutely right about if they want it they will get it, but why make it easy for them to find your home whey you are not there. I don't know how many other GPS systems have a locking device code. Deterent to theft is a never ending business.
