Sink Covers

Well, we finally picked up our new 3510rl last Saturday and are planning to take it out this weekend. My DW and I were wondering what do the rest of you do with the corian sink covers? Do you leave them in and store them when you get to where you are going. While they look great when installed, I'm starting to lean towards just leaving them stored at home. We also have the plastic cutting board ones in the sink also.

We leave them on the sink and remove them when we use the sinks. It adds counter space when the sinks aren't being used.

We store ours under the sink,We have two tubs under the sinks for various items and they fit nicely between one tub and the end of the cabinet. The tubs also act as a water catch if either sink drain starts to leak (which they have)... Dave

Both of our cutting boards and covers are stored in our shed at home, we certainly don't need ANY extra weight either!!!

when we park, we put them under the dining chairs. Ok, before you ask,:-) the chairs that have the lift up seat. not sure if they are all like that or not. That way we have them if needed.

We store a standup coffee maker under the sink's cabinet that gets put on the counter next to the stovetop as part of DW's routine of initial setup. The Corian sink covers then get stored under the sink where the coffee maker sat.

We are firm believers that whatever came with the rig should stay in the rig somehow - covers, manuals, gadgets, etc. We both have CRS and aren't organized enough to remember to retrieve them if we get ever got rid of the rig, plus that leaves our storage areas for other things. Obviously, others aren't as bad off as we are.

I like the underseat chair idea. We don't use our underseat storage in the chairs for anything and those would probably fit fine.

We use ours all the time. Sometimes we store under the table if we haven't used them for a while. They do provide extra counter space. I love the look when the counter is all clear and the covers are in place. They can hide dirty dishes!!! LOL
Happy trails..............

Ours are still in but they are a pain in the rear. Always in the way. If it were up to me they would be gone. Maybe leave the small one in because that sink is to small to be of any use.

We carry one.. Mainly because I transport my russian tea pot in the sink. The cover ensures that nothing drops on it. When not travelling, it is propped up on the floor and always ready when we need more counter space.

We left ours in storage. But I think when we get back to "storage" we will put at least one back in for additional counter space (maybe both). I store sheet pans, baking pans and cutting boards under the sink in a vertical dish rack we bought at WalMart. There's more room there.

We don't have corian and our covers were white nylon cutting boards and we got tired of dealing with them and threw them away

We always have ours--I use one of them a lot for the extra counter space--otherwise they prop up next to the cupboard by the refrigerator--I think I will try them in the chairs, I never thought about that as a place to put them--unless I have too much wine in my chairs

"wine" under the chairs, that is a good idea. it's better than me under the chairs after the "wine"

Wine bottles fit great in the chairs but you should reinforce the bottom of the chairs because traveling with heavy wine bottles bouncing in there will knock the bottom of the chair off. Don't ask me how I know.
