shower enclosure question

Has anyone had to remove their plastic shower enclosure? I can see that they use 14 plastic rivets to attach it to the rear walls of the bath area. I used a putty knife to shear off one of these so that I could see how easy it is...very! How waterproof these are I have no idea since I haven't started to remove them yet. Question is "what kind of tool was used to secure these?" I am off to Ft Myers tomorrow to La Mesa RV to see if they will try to get a new shower pan for me as well as new plastic rivets. Better they do the painful work of working with Keystone to find out what they put in my rv and the part numbers than me! John

Have you considered taking measurements of your current shower to Lowes, Home Depot, or similar big box stores and see if you can get a better quality shower and could possibly be cheaper. Shouldn't be that hard to install. When/if mine fails that is my plan of attack.

About 8 years ago I installed a 48" corner pan in the master bath of our home to include a glass surround and tile walls. It was surprisingly easy.

The rivets are available at Lowes, Home Depot or any hardware store They just push into the holes and the center pin pushes in to secure them.

Thanks for info. Did some looking, but finding something that fits and has the seat that the wife isn't willing to give up has been the hard part. John

Both lowes and home depot in this of florida didn't have what the factory used to install the walls. Lowes did a really thorough search on shower pans, neo angle type, all the ones that were 36x36 had the drain in the back corner or centered. My need is front drain in our model so that plumbing doesn't fall in the way of the furnace and water heater. Even trying to do a custom pan didn't allow for drain location change. So know that layout will be the factor if you ever want to change out that plastic fantasic! I'll just bed the new plastic shower pan in expanding foam or add bottom side additional mass to stiffen it up like a fiberglass base would be. I am extremely interested in what I see when I pull the old one out...but not going there until I have new pan in hand. Have fun guys, don't let anything that comes up detract from enjoying the rv freedom. John

John-- Have you tried to any plumbing supply stores or dealers? They normally can get you anything you want when it comes to plumbing supplies. I've used them several times for specific items for the S&B and I have asked about items for the Monte if I needed them. They told me they can get me anything I need it just might not be cheap! Give them a try if you have any in the your area.
