Tight seals on the slides

We are loving our new Mountaineer but have a question. When we slide the rooms in, or out, the rubber is leaving black streaking on the sides of the slide-out rooms. Is there something we can do to eliminate this, or is it just the "tightness" of a good seal? Thanks for any and all help!

It is normal. There are several products used to clean it. I use Awesome.

You can also use 303 on the seals and it keeps them soft and flexible. I just spray it on the seal or gasket and rub it in with a cloth. Fantastic Fan pass samples of 303 out at Rallies and Shows to use on their gaskets that the cover closes down on. Great stuff!

The slide walls need extra care in my opinion. I keep them waxed and clean. Less streaks if waxed and sealed well. In boats we keep all lines flemished. Busily that means lines nicely coiled and neat .. I keep my Rzv that way, slides shipshape as well. After all they are stored inside your rig!

Thanks everyone! Glad to know this is normal. We' have been able to get the streaking off but next time the room goes in and out more streaking.......oh well. We're retired....

We also wax the slide sides and it seems to help. Once a month I use 303 on the seals themselves.
