Roof membrane manufacturer

Hi all

What manufacturer makes the roof on the 2019 Montana? I want to read exactly what the manufacturer recommends for care and cleaning.

Roof membrane Maintenance

I don’t know who Keystone buys the membrane from, and my manuals are out inside the RV. I do not recall if I have anything more than a general statement that might be in the generic keystone book - “clean the roof couple of times per year” or something. There have been many threads on the subject here.

Major membrane manufacturers in the US are
Carlisle
Firestone
GAF
Johns Manville
The most common roof on commercial buildings is a 60 mil thick TPO membrane. 40 mil is cheaper but less common. I think our RVs have 40 mil membranes.

There are millions of square feet of TPO roofing on buildings in the USA today, and I am willing to bet that those roofs only get washed when it rains. We wash our RV roofs because the dirt and bird poop drips down over our beautiful fiberglass sidewalls and it looks ugly. I don’t know if a roof wash extends the life of the membrane. That being said - I wash mine couple times per year. I googled Carlisle’s recommended maintenance. Here are a couple of screen shots for your reading pleasure.

That’s smart to to what the manufacturer says. They make the membrane and know how to take care of it. I think most people do more harm than good cleaning their roof.

I don't recall how I learned this but I also believe it is Alpha Systems (TPO not EPDM) on our 2020.

Keystone and its manual recommends: The only maintenance to the roof material itself is washing it a few times a year. Most standard household detergents combined with warm water are appropriate (avoid petroleum based solvents, harsh abrasives or citrus based products). Keep debris cleared to help avoid stains. Refer to the 2019 keystone manual pages 86 - 88 in the link below.

The roof membrane is likely Alpha TPO as indicated above and a thread above and below is Alpha's recommended maintenance procedure:
