Smelly bathroom sink water

Hi folks, weird question here. Has anyone noticed water coming from just one location smelling sulfurous? My bathroom sink water has a sulfury odor to it. 2020 3855br, been living in it full time for a bit over a year, started noticing a few weeks ago. None of the other water outlets have this smell. At first I thought it was the drain trap so I took that apart and cleaned it but it didn't make a difference. Shower water, outside kitchen, inside kitchen, convenience center hoses all are fine. Just the bathroom sink seems affected, both hot and cold. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you're sure the smell is coming from the water inlet, try removing the water lines to the faucet and see if there is some build up in the lines. Also the aerator on the faucet could get calcium build up. Just a guess.

If you have plumbing for a washing machine, flush those pipes. The water in them never moves and could go stale.

Daryles that is a great idea, I will do that this afternoon. I forgot that those pipes run off the same line. Thanks!

I forgot about those lines too! I put in valves in the basement that allow me to drain the lines in the winter and not have water up into the bedroom closet. Since I haven't put in the W/D, I don't use the lines at all. The valves make winterizing much easier too.
These are similar to what I have...

Andy, did you ever solve your problem? I’ve started having the same problem in the same location. It’s the cold water side of the bathroom faucet. The W/D connections are in the kitchen and it T’s off the half bath water lines. That faucet doesn’t emit an odor. It’s only the master bath right side sink (we have 2 sinks in the master bath) that smells.

Our water smells very musty at all points. I bleached the hose to the hose bib and ran the water for a very long time. Still have that odour. Any ideas?

Yes, ours was definitely the washer hookups. I had been flushing every few months but now that we have a washing machine using the water regularly it's no longer an issue.

Usually the bathroom sink is the closest to the water heater which is most times the start of the odors. Since we live fulltime in our unit, the yearly tank flush and new anode takes care of any smells.

As others have said, it’s the lines running to the washer. We had the smelly water problem when our Montana was newer. I flushed the (unused) washer lines, and some disgusting crud came out. I then got some 1/2” shark bite shut-off valves, and installed them as close as possible to the tee on the main water lines that feed the washer lines. The problem has not returned in 4 years. Even if you don’t have the smell, this is a good thing to do for health reasons if you drink water from your faucets, and it helps simplify winterizing your rig.

I installed valves on the washer plumbing too.
One less thing to winterize.

I also had this problem with the sink in my bathroom caused by the washer hot and cold water lines. I solved it by installing shut off valves as closed to the sink line as possible. Later when I winterized I blew out the line thoroughly with compressed air and shut off the "T" for good. At the time I wanted to keep my options open for the future in case I someday wanted a W/D , but in hindsight I could have disconnected the T and installed a sharkbite splice and just abandoned the W/D lines.

We had the same problem in our 3931FB. I found the problem was the convenience center outdoor connections. Our W/D connection is off the half bath so I knew that wasn’t the problem but couldn’t find the cause. I went outside to try opening the low point drains and saw the outside connections (which we have never used). I hooked up the quick connect and turned them on. When I did 3 year old antifreeze came out. I flushed the lines for about a minute and the odor in the master bath went away.

That’s what it was in our unit, as well. We don’t have a washer and dryer, but we’re plumbed for it. I just installed shutoff valves in the lines, and that fixed it.
