Not sure what type of permit they would require?. BUT anybody traveling to Arizona keep in mind ALL forests and state land are closed to camping, and anything else, can’t even drive off-road. We are burning up from fires. Be careful wherever you might travel or camp.

When we left NM to head east for the summer you had to quaratine for 14 days after you arrived in the state. That requirement is over and you should be ok, just call the campground you're going to and ask them. When we are in ABQ we like to stay at the Enchanted Trails. Also be aware that some parts of NM are very very hot in the summer.

Place close attention to DQDicks last sentence ... "very very HOT" in July.

We have done some camping in NM and never had to apply for any sort of permit, but with covid who knows!! As stated by someone earlier, AZ national forests are all CLOSED! If caught entering there is a fine plus you could get some jail time! The entire state is on fire so plan ahead while passing though the state. Oh, enjoy and please be safe out there!!
