So our wonderful storage company has yet again hiked our monthly rate by $60 a month, this is a total of $ 100+ over the last 2 years. we've had it found a place for a $100 less. But it will not be covered, so my question is what kind of cover do people use ?

If you want it to last get the cover that works in the area you store your unit at(sunny, rainy, winter ETC.) and DO NOT buy a cheap cover. We have bought many covers for many different units we have purchased over the years and you get what you pay for.

John buy a cover and enclose the sides and it will be paid off in 6 years if you have the room to put it.
come to the great democratic state of California and pay the storage fees I pay 200. 00 a month uncovered a nation wide franchise Extra Space Storage. I get a rate increase every other year.

Before we went full time we never had a cover in the Kansas winters and summers.

What threw me off is the topic line, but...
You'll get plenty of opinions on whether or not to use a cover. Just make sure you snug up the cover real good so it doesn't flap if any wind shows up and damages your rig because of the flapping. It would be ironic to use a cover and then the cover becomes the problem. Breathable fabric is important, too since any rain needs to be able to evaporate. The last thought from friends that I know, is that a cover is not a preventative in keeping your rig clean while it's in storage. I supposed it's better, but I've know a few cover owners who get their rigs washed/waxed after the cover is removed and they find dirt spots and the like. I imagine things would have been worse without the cover.

I use an Adco cover. They make their covers out of different materials for different regions of the country. I suppose all manufacturers do the same thing, so take a look at what application is best suited for where you live. I've had good luck with my covers over the years, but a lot of the people here aren't too high on them.

we have never used a cover on any Rv in over 30 years of camping most of it in hard Northern, Ohio winters. We do not see dealers using covers on their lots during the winter. Personal choice.

IMO a waste of cash I have fulltimed in all three of my 5er's in the NW without Covers and never a problem just once a year I clean my roof and wash the exterior a few times a year and they have all looked great BUT if I had it stored in Arizona etc.. I would cover it just to protect the decals
