Did I over do it?
I guess I'm looking for some re-assurance...
Sold the 1/2 ton, sold the class A.
Bought a 2003 Chev 2500 Silverado C/C SB DMax 4x4.
Bought 2005 Mountianeer 318BHS
Do I have enough truck???
Thanks...

Is the Chevy a 1500 (Doubtful), 2500 (OK), or 3500 (Best)? (Just my opinion!)

I agree with the others that's plenty of truck. Sometimes a 3/4 ton may sag a little in the rear if the pinweight is high but that can be fixed with airbags. Most don't have that problem. Good luck. Nice rig you have there.

Sjordan007,
I towed my previous trailer, a 2002 315RLS Mountaineer with my 2003 duramax and walked all over the place with that trailer. Now I have upsized to the 3400RL fifth wheel and a 2004 Duramax and still have no problems. You will be just fine with your tow rig. Enjoy...

You have a good setup with your present choice. I will place money on your next purchase. It will be a Montana 5th wheel.

My Chevy 2500HD DMAX pulls my 3670 without any problems. I have air bags to help level things out some.

No, your truck is just fine. I pull my 2005 3295RK with a 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab longbed with a Duramax. It does just fine. You don't gain a great deal of towing capacity with a 3500HD, you only get duallies. My opinion that is just 2 more tires to buy and my research determined that duallies don't track very well in snow. I use my truck all the time, and it does snow in Kansas. I am not lucky enough to go fulltiming yet and become a snowbird like most big 5er owners. Just getting prepared for when I can.

DHenry: Do you think you really needed the airbags? I know my 2500HD hardly settles with our 3670

I also think you have sufficient power in your tow vehicle. I pull a 328RLS Mountaineer with a 2002 F250 PSD 7.3. So far, I've not had a problem. I did add airlift bags to level. The pin weight drops the truck about 2-3 inches. Air bags fixed that.

I pull a '04 Mountaineer 304FKS with my '03 GMC 2500HD Dmax / Allison and have loads of truck for the job. I have added the EDGE Attitude to the Dmax for a little extra kick in the mountains.
Happy RVing
