Question for those with Disk Brakes
I'm seriously considering adding disk brakes to our Montana, and am wondering what the cost is. I have the tools to do it myself, but I'm wondering what the costs were to have it done, parts included. I'd especially be interested in hearing from anyone who had them added at the fall rally. PM me if you don't want to discuss prices in the forum.
Speaking of the rally - anyone know when it will be posted? We're going to be out of the country for a while and don't want to miss signing up!

I don't know the cost of just parts but I will be at Mor/Ryde next week getting the I/S & disk brakes installed. Adding disk brakes doubled the cost of just having the I/S installed.

Since I don't know the price of the I/S, that doesn't help me much.

E-mail MorRyde and get prices. We had the MorRyde IS w/Disc and Nev-R-Lub Bearing installed at the end of the Fall Rally. Ran approx $5500 for everything. But feel it was well worth the cost, even tho we ended up trading, but would do it again in a heart beat.

I am waiting until the rally in the hopes they have a special on them. Did your price include the unit to convert your electronic brake controller to hydraulic, or was that extra?

Isn't there a unit that converts the electricity from the brake controller into hydraulic pressure for the brakes?

For GMs with the integrated/built-in controller, there is an interface unit made by Carlisle that goes in line between the TV controller line and the hydraulic pump. Without it the brakes may or may not work and you'll get fault codes generated. And it was included in our price, which BTW was a 5% Rally discount on the parts if I remember correctly.

The hydraulic pump takes the electric signal from the controller and converts it into hydraulic pressure.

Yup, that's what I thought and wondered if it was included in the prices folks had. The on line do it yourself kits have to have everything ordered separately.
Thanks!
