Work during the day, wife sit at night

Poor Cathy is bed-ridden and dear old Dad has a new duty. She had exploratory surgeries yesterday, a laproscopy, hysteroscopy, d and c, and for good measure while they were doing all that, they decided to remove her appendix! Her family has a history of cancer and we did not want to take any chances so decided to have the docs take a good look-see and see if there were any indications both visible and testing-wise. I stayed with her all day yesterday at the hospital and after a twelve hour visit we were allowed to come home. She had her first real food a few minutes ago (if you can call a bowl of Bingo cooked oatmeal real food!) and now if she can weather a few more days of pain, hopefully she can get back on her feet. The girls are chipping in where they can around the house and thanks to texting and cell phones, we are in constant communications with the ailing boss. If you happen to think of it and are inclined to do so, feel free to say a little prayer this evening for her to eliminate the pain, provide comfort and peace and accelerate the healing process. We strongly believe in the power of prayer and any contributions will be appreciated! I will admit that it provides satisfaction knowing that at least for a couple of days, I can contribute to her well-being and hopefully keep her smiling!
Bingo

Cathy just told me to mention to everyone (sorry, I am a little tired since we had emergencies about every hour last night - won't go into details but thank goodness I didn't have a weak stomach) that there were no visible signs of anything that was cancer related. They did some scrapings that were sent off for analysis, but we are confident that the results will come back clean. She further said to make sure that each and every one of you is told that we appreciate you all for the support. Blessings to all, since we at the moment feel totally blessed by a good report considering that both of her sisters as well as her mother have had episodes with cancer! Getting old is getting old (pun intended), but at least we are trying to manage the health part of it proactively. So for those of you who have been putting off any kind of preventive testing, time to get-r-dun!! Sorry, had to put that in there

Our thoughts and prayers are coming your way. (for the whole family) That was quite a bit of surgery to have in one day. Wish her a speedy recovery. Now she won't have that worry and fear.

We too believe in prayer and have been the recipient of God's mercy many times. We will be praying for victorious reports soon. May God give the needed strength and patience during these growing old times.

Cathy is lucky to have such a good hubby and father to your daughters, and you are a lucky guy as well, Cathy sounds like a great person. Sue and I are sending our best wishes for her recovery, and no complications are allowed!

Every night I put my granddaughter to bed (my daughter is a single mother, ER nurse at the Lebanon, Pa VA) we say or prayers and they end with god bless pop, meemee, mommy, etc, etc. Tonight we will add Bingo, Cathy, and family. May God truly bless you and provide you with the comfort and healing you require.
