Convection Microwave

My new '2009 3455SA was supposed to come with a convection microwave oven with the Moving to Montana option package. Not sure if it is a regular microwave or a convection. Can any one tell what I should look for to determine if it is a convection or not. What is the brand and manufacturer? Any other clues?

Our first weekend in a RV was great. Thanks to the folks that have helped make this transition easy.

May I suggest read your manual that should have come with it. Also, on the inside of the unit should be a label showing manufacturer's name and both model and serial numbers. Looking up the manufacturer's site on the internet and plugging in the model number should tell you the type of unit you have.

If it is convection microwave it definitely should have buttons on it for microwave, convection, and probably combination microwave/convection.

David and Karen,
Is your micro and vent hood all one unit? If so you should have a Dometic Model# DOTRC17B and that model is micro/convection. You can find the model number by opening the door and it should be on the bottom front of the door frame. Hope this helps.
Jack

The oven should have the convection button but you never know if they have come up with some other terminology or fancy name. Some microwaves have silver chrome insides (shouldn't that causing arcing and sparking - I never understood that) so it might not be a convection oven, too. cmawendy's idea on the tray is another indicator, unless like ours it was hidden in a cabinet somewhere that we didn't notice until days later (and we knew we had a convection oven). Can you tell we don't use that feature - but darnit we should, because we hear so many good things about it?

I would also check at the brand model name, then look it up on the Internet and check the features, just to confirm what it is. If all else fails, check your PDI documents or contact the dealer.

I believe there should also be a large fan on the back wall of the unit to distribute the temperature evenly.
