Jekyl Island GA??????

We are requesting any information good or bad on personal experiences at Jekyl Island campground in GA. Thinking about doing something different for Thanksgiving this year, rather than our usual week at Lakewood in Myrtle Beach. Will be at Lakewood this summer from July 5th through the 22nd if anybody will be there. Thanks for any input or suggestions you may have.

I know that Al and Nita (coachpotatoes) stayed at Jekyl last November. If they are not along shortly, you may want to PM them. I have not stayed there for longer than one day andI can tell you that it sure is quiet compared to MB. (not always a bad thing)

We enjoyed our stay at Jekyl Island. I believe we were there for a total of 3 nights. It is quiet there and not a lot to do. You can tour the Island during the day. We took a horse and carraige tour. They may have some planned activities for Thanksgiving. Not sure, but I think I heard that. You will find the sites are large enough to accomadate your rig. It is a wooded campground but the trees are well trimed. Dirt roads. We were not crazy about the fact that it wasn't grassy. Lots of dirt. Not sure we would want to be there for any longer than the 3 days. Just our opinion. Nice people running it. I believe it is owned by the state.
