Can anyone give a rough yearly estimate of how much
it costs for two people to go fulltime?

rware, go to this site and you will find a wealth of information. These folks have a Cambridge and have done lots of research. They are more than willing to share both their original budgets and then actual expenses. They give samples of different budgets for different living/spending habits. Enjoy!

You can read many many budgets or expenses that people spend fulltime. It actually depends on you. If you take the miles you intend to drive, do the mpg and cost factor you can budget your fuel for the year, month, week, day etc. If you are aware of what type parks you wish to stay in, state, cty, fed, private, and use a budget of that cost per day, week, month, then you can set your budget as to where you want to be. A good rule for us is we budget 450.00 per month for parks. Yes we exceed that some months, but then under use the money at some parks, You can get your best source for that. Your rv insurance, only you know, your bills , only you know. Cell phones can be had for 40 bucks a month. Maintenance, is derived by you and what you expect to spend to keep up your tv and soap and wax for your trl, (being on here, I suspect you do not use a moho). Keep in mind things such as laundry, health and death insurance, you know what that cost you, admission and entertainment fees , you decide, extra little things such as cabale tv, internet fees, and just the little things that ADD UP must be considered . Fulltiming is a lot like other living, there are cost and choices that only you can make to meet or break the budget.

Fulltime living ...............1000-2400 a month
Fulltime traveling.............2400-3500 a month
Fulltime vacationing...........3500-5000 a month
Fulltime do it all ...........5000 and up a month

Our TOTAL fulltiming expenses for the period Jan 1 - Feb 28 were $7100. This includes EVERYTHING which includes $1000 assessment on our Escapee lot in Lakewood, NM.

Ain't that the truth! Don't know why they call it "Life Insurance", but death insurance is absolutely the what it should be called, because nobody gets anything out of if unless you're dead!

Something else to think about is clothing expenses. Since you have limited space, you tend to wash and wear more often, wearing them out faster.

I agree about the RV-dreams website. I've been out there to get a good realistic idea of what expenses and where you can safe. They are very open about their expenses.

My rent is 325 a month, power about 70,propane now is one bottle in 3 weeks in winter one bottle in about 4 days. Propane is about 23 dollars a bottle, just the heater also in the winter I have one of the electric oil filled 1500 watt heaters on all the time. I think this is cheeper then what I would pay for any thing or anywhere else.

I think $5000/mo is a pretty fair estimate if you are traveling as full timers. Easily can be less, possible be more, all depending on your "fixed" expenses, residual expenses from former life-style, but, mainly, personal choices. Some folks manage on WAY less. Others may spend more. For example, if you want to play golf at a "destination resort" three or four times a week, all year.....

All up to the individuals.

That's true...but look at how few you have compared to the stick house. If we were to FT, I could not get the DW's shoes alone in this 3400...she'd have to cut way back!

If your truck/5th are paid for, you could have a good time on a $2500-3000 budget. My budget is $4600/mo, but I am still paying for my truck, rv and daughter's student loans. Take those away, and our budget is approx $2700/mo. This includes $800/mo for recreation ($200/wk is plenty).

Some months we go just a bit over, but not usually. So much will depend on how much traveling you do (we move on average every 10 days). Also, your medical expenses are a big part. We have been fulltiming about 1 1/2 years, so our budget is fairly streamlined. Like others said, so much depends on you. But, unless you are independently wealthy, make a realistic budget and stick to it. We have a ball, not wanting for anything, eat out alot, and get to see some beautiful places (just left the Florida Keys).

Enjoy, and feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
