Dometic Recalls

I can't remember/find the thread where someone was asking about Dometic Recalls and how to find them...here is the website:

http://www.dometicusa.com/recall.php

Robin

BTW I went to the mainpage of the MOC website and went to OEM and found it.

[size=4]My refridgerator, Dometica RM 2862 ser 426 04026, was not effected by the recall, so a new coil at $500 is in my future.

Jerry,

Well that STINKS! You might try contacting Dometic to see MAYBE they'll do something to help out...nothing ventured, nothing gained....and, hey, if they say "no" you are only out the time of the phone call/email/letter.

Would you believe I just received our recall notice a couple months ago? After checking the numbers, I saw ours was on the list and called to verify and get repair locations. I was told not to operate the unit under propane power until it got repaired as it could start a fire. I then asked how long this notice had been out and why it took so long to get notified...they couldn't answer why nobody had informed me of such a dangerous issue until now. Someone is sleeping at the wheel...

Recall has been out over a year. Got our notice. It takes less than 30 minutes for the fix.

We didn't get a notice but when I saw the recall on here, I checked our model & serial numbers. Ours is on the recall so we'll be making an appointment to get it taken care of.

Thanks for posting the recall information.

A new one came out in March that has more units then before. We had them come out last year and 'fix' ours and a neighbors. Well, the neighbors unit quit working 2 weeks ago and ours quit last night. Dometic turned him down for service or help with a new one. Isn't it strange that both of them were done at the same time and they both failed within 2 weeks of each other? I guess it's time to go shopping for a new one. And to top it all off, our house is on the market so we were going to start living in the camper until we built the new house.

We also head to the track in Dover in a couple of weeks. It'll be a challenge without a fridge. Oh wait- we'll have one. It just doesn't work. lol

Ours stopped working after the recall repair--maybe 4 months later. After a couple of repair tries, a repairman in Mesa, AZ, discovered that a wire was pinched when the did the original fix and it caused a short. He fixed that and it is working better than every before.
