Inks Lake State Park, Texas

We spent last week there June 6-10, 2007, about a third of the sites are 50 amp but if you're a large Montana the sites are limited. Trees close to the entrance of the site, trees close to the slide areas and posts make parking difficult. The lake is large, relatively clear and warm, the humidity is high and the bugs are plentiful.
Inks lake is close to Austin Texas so the liberal crowd is out there. Unfortunately, that generation of peace-niks are middle aged and should no longer wear bikinis!!

I'd avoid this one unless you're interested in middle aged folks wishing they were still in their teens. Was not a place for kids.

We first visited Inks Lake State Park back in the 1960s when your campsite was just where you parked. We have been back several times across the years and have always enjoyed it. Perhaps one reason we have had such positive experiences is that we usually go in the Springtime when the bluebonnets are in bloom.

Here are some scenes of Inks Lake for any who might wish to view them:

I can't resist sharing an old photo of that first trip to Inks Lake. This was a borrowed trailer from Shirley's parents. Our daughter pictured here is now 44 years old.

Very well done David. Inks Lake is also one our favorite Texas State Parks. Below is a sunset photo taken at Inks Lake.
