Residential refrigerator

We bought 2021 Keystone Montana High Country 37ft 331RL. My question is , how do you turn the Refrigerator off without turning off the MAIN Breaker when not using?

are you storing of just vacating for a while? If storing unplug it from the inverter, if just a temp vacation, find the breaker to the slide its in, leave door open and start shutting off breakers until the light goes off, worked for me the last 20 plus years

If it is a GE, push the refrigerator and freezer pad at the same time. It should indicate off in the display. The light will still be on but the compressor will be off.

Read the manual, it will tell you how to power off your particular brand of refrigerator.

If you are trying to shut off all the power to the fridge try this. On our 2021 with GE fridge, to kill the power to the fridge, turn off the inverter disconnect in the battery bay and turn off the breaker that supplies shore power to the inverter/shore power transfer switch. In the photo below, it’s the breaker immediately to the right of the mains. Caution- this will also shut off power to the other 4 or 5 inverted outlets in the trailer. If your high country is the same set up as ours, just keep in mind that the inverter does not just power the residential fridge or the residential fridge does not “plug into” the inverter. The inverter powers a circuit of outlets throughout the trailer, the fridge is just plugged into one of those outlets.
To just shut off the compressors, do as CDS1 stated above.
Hope that helps.

Refrigerator

Thank you, Refrigerator does not not plug in to the inverter. I just flipped the main power breaker to shut it all down.

The manual for your refrigerator will tell you how to shut it off.
It's a sequence in your refrigerator controls.
You don't have to flip the breaker to shut it off.
Read the refrigerator manual.
CDS1 mentioned it earlier in this thread.
If it's a residential refrigerator, yes it does power off of the inverter.

No manual, I also looked in to all the paper work that was given to us at the time of purchase. But thank you anyway. I'll figure it out.

We have a Samsung Residential Refrigerator and the only way I have found to completely turn it off without affecting anything else in the camper is to simply unplug it. Samsung refrigerators do NOT have a true "completely off" switch anywhere. And I've been through everything suggested by everyone on this thread, and even called Samsung directly and they confirmed,.... no TRUE "off" switch.

I took the time to pull the the refrigerator out and I plugged in a 6 foot utility extension cord and then plugged the refrigerator into the extension cord. I then slid the refrigerator back in it's cabinet and left the extension cord plug end laying beside the refrigerator in the front of the cabinet so I can easily reach it, pull it out and unplug the refrigerator when I want it completely off.

This was the best solution I could come up with. Flipping breakers in the electric panel also killed other plugs in the camper, which was not an acceptable solution.

Unplugging it was the easiest solution.

Depends on the model but most Samsung turn off by holding Power Freeze and freezer buttons for a few seconds

The Power Freeze and Freezer combo should work, after a few seconds the display will read OF (not OFF). Lights will still work if you open the door, but compressor will not run and ice maker will not run.
