Water in Fridge...

Hello!

2nd week in my 3820FK. Its a 2016, and I am the 2nd owner. The fridge is "full size" according to the specs. The fridge keeps having water on top of the glass drawers on the bottom. Not just a drop, I can literally soak a hand towel every morning. The fridge works good, keeps everything cold. It does sound like the little fan in the fridge runs alot though. Just not sure what it should sound like. Ideas?
Thanks for your help in advance.

R V or residential frig? If door gasket is bad or door is not closing properly condensation will develop causing this problem

Ensure the white plastic drip pan below the fins is connected to the drain line and that the line is not plugged (usually on the back side where it drips into the evaporation pan). There is a little plastic device in the end of the tube that gets gummed up.

The doors are not sealing tightly.

Is there a way to check or fix this? They don't seem to "suck up" against the fridge like my last 5er did.

At night I put a bright flashlight inside, closed the doors, and looked for light. I saw light spots along the seal. Depending on where the light comes out will determing how to fix it.

When I had an issue with my frig I conferred with Dave Forest of RV Cooling Warehouse. He is a wealth of information on RV refrigerators. We got acquainted with him when I bought a replacement coil unit from him when the OEM unit leaked. Here are his instructions:
Use a hair dryer to go around and around gasket or just in the area you found it not sealing, the heated vinyl gasket is allowed to soften making the gasket flexible enough for the magnet inside the gasket to flex vinyl, close the door so the magnet flexing the gasket will make contact with the metal frame allow to cool. This will be flexed and cooled in a sealed position. You can also use a little bit of Vaseline in the area you are checking, once the door closed and reopened the point the gasket did not seal will show by the Vaseline was not disturbed on the refrigerator metal surface.

This method fixed my problem.

My FK is a 2018 and the flap between the two refrigerator doors was only flipping back 1/2 way. Took me 18 months to figure it out - we don't camp as much as we'd like - and lots of ruined food plus excess frustration. I was shopping for a new refrigerator when I finally found a post about the center flap. Put a washer under the left hand door with the flap attached raising it just enough so the flap works now. No more water from excessive condensation and no more rotting food!!! A stupid little washer was all it took...ugh!

I also found the center flap not closing all the way. The flap was hanging up on the bottom. A sign of this is scuff marks on the bottom under the flap. Had to adjust the door by placing a washer as a shim under the bottom door bracket.

Had to do the same thing, also some silicone spray on the parts that move helps

If it's a residential fridge and a Samsung, there is a bad part that needs replacing to fix the problem. Here is the part we ordered. Change to .com if in the USA. Check YT for instructions.

Just a thought. I too have a Samsung residential refer in my 2016 Montana. We're plagued with water build up on top and below crisper trays. Resolution was a $10 part that clips on to the thawing tubes behind panel inside unit. Installation was 10 minutes after 10 days fretting. Drain tube would freeze, not allowing water to drain. Installation of T shaped extension solved our problem

You can research on YouTube for water problems inside fridge. Most helpful.

May not be the problem, but thought I would drop my 2 cents in.

Can I say that I just totally love this forum. I've had my 3820FK since new but I had the same problem this month as it's the first time we've been in it for more than a weekend. Had water galore and found leakage of cold air at the base of the fridge in the center where the doors join. I see the flap hanging up and the scuffs on the bottom but that left door doesn't have a lot of room to raise. Can the hinges be adjusted (bent up) or should I take the door off and add a washer or two to the bottom hinge.

Had water build up from the get go in 2016 on brand new 3790rd. Repair guy said take off door, use washer, reinstall door. Second advice, since evaporation method used in the fridge was not the best option, install an additional length of tubing, and drain to outside the cover. Did that, as easiest fix, not one problem since in 4 years.

We have the 12 cu ft Norcold single door. A couple years ago the catch basin under the coils inside the fridge would freeze up and water would run down onto the shelves. We cleaned out the catch basin and noticed the drain hose going out to the tray by the burner was full of water and that tray by the burner was full also. Ran a wire thru the drain hose and it was clear. But it kept happening. Talked with an RV shop and they gave us the same tips about checking the gasket on the doors. He also suggested I not put the drain hose into the pan by the burner, instead just leave it dangle outside the RV thru the louvered cover over the back of the fridge. No more problems. If I'm standing out there when the hose releases water, I can get soaked. I did insert a short piece of smaller hose into the end of the drain hose so that bugs couldn't get up into the hose.

I took off the door and added a washer. I also loosened the screws that secure the flap and there was enough slop to push the flap up a small amount.

drip pan is located in lower left part of fridge and drains out to a drip pan next to burner. this is supposed to keep moisture out but didnt on mine. So, extended drip tube to outer door and secured in place with tube clamps. never had water in fridge in last 5 years.
