Awning too Flat, Water Pools

I would like to reposition the lower arm on awning by drilling a hole a couple inches lower in channel where pin is now. I think that would give awning a better angle. I am wondering if anyone has done that. Might have to reposition shock absorber too.
Might not roll up right either. Thoughts and recommendations. Thanks

If you are talking about the awning and not a slide cover they are adjustable and most of us just pull one side down lower than the other and then lock it in place with the knob that will tighten and hold it in place. With one side lower than the other rain doesn't stay on the awning, but runs off toward the lower end.

Right I have done that and works well. Just have to remember to loosen off before retracting.
I thought if could get whole awning reset to slope would be more convenient.
