In my 3710FL there's a black panel in the basement, against the rear wall, that you remove to find the vacuum bag.

Year and model of your unit would help.

as other have stated in the basement.
just a note we took out vacuum bag and stuck our wet/dry vac hose in the port. plugged into power right there with a rc switch inside the trailer. now when we vacuum hit the switch/ wet/dry vac starts up. trailer hose work perfect inside trailer. we have a lot more suction power and 2 gallon capacity. never have to replace the bag again.

I thought about doing that same thing in our S&B as we are remodeling. Might do it as an add on for our 5th wheel as it does not have central vac system.......yet

the switch I used was for Christmas lights. they are at home depot or Lowes. it plugs into the outlet in the basement, I plug the wet/dry vac into it with the wet/dry switched on.
the button I hung in the closet by the door inside the trailer. one thing I forgot to tell is I then turned off the breaker to the original vacuum system. that way when she uses the hose it will not start up the original cheap vacuum.

I love your idea, sitting here thinking....If a guy disconnected the power supply to the cheap on-board vac, and wired into an outlet to the vac feed. Then plugged you shop vac to that. Would it then work the same, utilizing the toe kick sweep switch and the hose attachment?

DW has always been a Dyson Stick fan, rechargeable, light easy to dump. Removing the built in unit and gaining some storage in the kitchen
