Dano..You are correct about that.Any propane tank that is overfilled "can" expand in heat and cause a problem .The instructions on the refill kit say to fill for one minute.Spoke to the person that refills our regular propane tanks about refilling the small tanks. He said it would be better to do it by weight like they do the regular tanks. I am going to take a small empty tank over there and a full tank, let him fill for 1 minute from a regular tank and see what it weighs.I figure someone has already done that hence the "fill for 1 minute instruction" (he has more precise scales than I do)

Why would a person want to refill those little canisters all the time. when CW sells the small bottles that hold about 1 or 1.5 gal of propain with a on off valve. I have seen those valve stim canisters leak after a while, with all of on and off threding for use. the other thing is how do you relese the pressure ( purging valve ) so it fills properly, all the big tanks have the relefe valve and they have to be opened so the propain goes in, and this allows the air in the canister to be replaced. I find them un safe to refill properly.
I am awair the filling process is the supply tank must be turned upside down and the canister should be upright to be filled properly and get liquid instead of a vapor, they also do not have a 10% valve on then either.
I'll buy my canisters and use for the lantren only, and the Que gets the 5 gal bottle.

But it all boils down to what the indevidual want in the long run doesn't it.
