STUDYING FOR HAM TEST.

All the ham radio question are in a public question pool.

You can study from a license manual or from online assistance (classes or just repeated questions from the public pool)

There are other book for the three licenses Technician, General and Extra. The books will help you with the communications capability for each license. NO CODE TESTS!

I use the ARRL publications. ARRL.ORG

Here are four online applications:

https://hamexam.org

https://hamradioprep.com/free-ham-radio-practice-tests/

https://www.qrz.com/hamtest/

http://www.hamradiolicenseexam.com/index.html

Most will charge a fee after they have baited you in.**But if all you want is the license through memorzation using one of the above cheaper than all the ARRL books.**If you are really interested in Ham Radio**I do recommend the ARRL HAND BOOK to all Hams. It will answer any question you have about the hobby and help with tech stuff for tests.

If you have any area that is troubling you I suggest you also join the community, social group, for ham radio (you do have to be approved so it takes a couple days some times) to ask questions and get help from us tutoring hams.

Click on community on top bar then social group then dropdown arrow for list and pick Ham Radio. Here Jim others and I can help with tech questions.

Hey Cindy, and whomever has this question....

ARRL.org is the national association of ham radio operators... Amateur Radio Relay League. Their website has TONs of info about ham radio, including a section on Licensing. They have three study manuals for sale that directly prepare you for the three levels of licensing exams. I FULLY recommend purchasing the manual for the license you anticipate testing for.
There are a number of online test practice apps available. I used Amateur Radio Exam Pro to prepare for all three exams, and passed each the first time up.
Jump in, study, and be ready to test in September!!

Ham Study

Amazon has the books for all three Ham exams as well as https://www.arrl.org/getting-licensed you can take practice test online https://www.qrz.com/hamtest/ I would recommend hitting the books before you try the practice exam,as most multiple choice test you do not want the wrong answers to become familiar. In our experience from giving this exam several times,we have found the phone aps very successful. If you do purchase the book or books please check the date the test is updated every few years and the old books always turn up. The ARRL also has the Question pool posted For the First test (Technician) you will get 35 questions from the pool and you must score 74% to pass. I highly recommend that you Take the Tech & General you gain so many more privileges and as a bonus some of the questions if not the same are very close. once you start getting 80% on the tech practice test start learning a few general class questions to your study. If you get confused on any of this reach out to us or one of the several MOC hams.
