Kitchen Water Pressure

Kitchen faucet us barely at a trickle. Bathroom: Sink, shower and toilet are at normal. Occasionally Kitchen faucet steps up about 50%. Usually a trickle. Water lines are clean and open, as far as I know. We didn't have this issue two six months ago. I there a check valve somewhere? Is there an issue with the faucet? Since the faucet occasionally pumps out semi-correctly, I'm guessing it's not getting the pressure it needs (since the bathroom is fine). I have traces the lines from the Water Heater and the junction for the water heater to the kitchen. Everything looks fine, valves are on, there is one for hot/cold.

Most of the faucets have an aerator on them. These aerators are known to catch some particles / minerals and restrict water flow. I would try unscrewing the aerator to see if that changes your flow

A similar thing happened to us. I disassembled the faucet head and there was a small piece of plastic wrapper clogging things up. It must have been floating around in the tank and finally made its way out. It was jammed up in the sprayer/stream toggle valve. It worked fine on sprayer and just a dribble on stream.

There is a flow restriction at BOTH ends of the hose. Take the hose off under the sink to get to the other one.

Took the head off. Flow is normal. We'll fix that. Not all RV parks have the cleanest water, filters notwithstanding. Thanks for the help. Sadly, I'm a soldier and a cop, not a plumber, never thought of the faucet head.

Replaced the faucet head, mission accomplished.

What IS the "end" of the hose here?

I checked out the aerator on the faucet head. No issue there. But I don't understand how the hoses are configured to deliver my water under my sink. I've never seen anything like this before. (see attached photos, although I don't understand why the photos are rotated sideways??)

Can you tell me where, in this configuration, the other "end" of my hose is, and how to separate it? Thank you!

You should be able to unscrew it here.
Also, if you haven't already, disassemble the faucet head and clean the aerator there.

Thank you, Daryles. Yes, I already disassembled the faucet head and there was nothing obstructing the aerator. All was good on that end. Thank you for your reply.

It's a bit more complicated I think...

I have been thinking about this issue more, and I am realizing that there is a larger phenomenon happening with my water pressure.

I bought my RV 2 years ago and have been living in it full-time ever since. In that time, I have noticed that the water pressure may be adequate in 2 places (e.g., the bathroom sink and kitchen sink), but not in the third place (e.g., the shower). The weird thing is, the 1 faucet that has less-than-adequate-water-pressure seems to rotate among the three faucets.

For instance, a few months ago, there was barely a trickle in my bathroom faucet, but the shower and kitchen pressure were fine. But now, the kitchen sink is barely a trickle, and my bathroom faucet is back to normal, and the shower has very nice pressure.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, do you know why it would do this...low water pressure at one faucet, but not the others? And it rotates? I find this very odd.

(and no, this has nothing to do with more than one faucet being turned on at a time. I understand the water pressure drop in those cases, because they're all connected to one source.)

Thank you, friends!!

I'm a "former" pastor. In my "previous life", once, I preached a sermon called, "Foxes, Flies, and Fleas." The message text came from the book of Proverbs that says, "The little foxes spoil the vines." Baby foxes will play with grape vines, twisting and chewing on them until thy are either broken, or so badly damaged they are rendered useless.

The purpose for the message was remind people that it's the "little" things in our lives that make things really bad for us. I used examples, a pimple on your face. It's such a small thing, but it makes a BIG impact on one's self-image. A small pebble in your shoe. It's such a tiny thing, but it sure makes walking difficult. A paper cut scratch is so tiny, but causes so much pain. The spark plug in your car engine is so small, but if it's not working, it makes a huge impact on the performance of the vehicle. And the list went on and on.

The gist of the message was, it only takes a small one-time rotten attitude to make a negative impression on the lives of people around us. Our negativity can be such a tiny comment at the least unexpected moment, the impact can be phenomenal in the world around us. Most people don't even realize it when they are being negative and how negative comments (such a tiny thing), have HUGE impacts for us.

Well, you know, a tiny speck of dirt caught in the aerator of your kitchen faucet can really spoil the vine also! I'm glad you figured it out!

When you say "no flow" is that no flow for both hot and cold taps?
If so, since both hot and cold pipes converge at all fixtures and come out the same nozzle, the blockage would have to be at the nozzle.
If it was just one or the other, the blockage (debris) could be in the pipe.
Water flow would drive it to a tap and block it. Gravity would allow it to sink back down. Next time a tap is turned on the debris would move to that tap. This would only happen for either the hot or cold pipe unless there is debris in both pipes.
Maybe make adapters to fit on each nozzle, open the low point drain and use the outside spicket and a hose to back flush each nozzle (both hot and cold pipes) out the low point drain.
I would put a strainer (colander) or clean white sock over the end of the low point drain to catch the debris to ID it.
