New Purchase Gone Bad
I had a friend recently purchase a new motorhome. She called me last night to say that they found that the dealer had lied about it! They were told that it was coming new from the factory. When her husband called the manufacture about the VIN number(he did this b/c on the site it was suddenly taken off)they told him it had been sitting on the dealer lot since Oct 2005. They went back and confronted the dealer and his first reponse was he would give them $500.00 in store credit. But they held their ground and demanded a new one from the factory. Can you believe this dealer did this? They did cancel the loan and were told that it would come in sometime in April...I told them I would of went to a different dealer and not of dealt with one that would do such a thing. I am still shocked at what this dealer did!

Wow, what a story. I think if I really wanted that brand of motorhome I would find another dealer. How can you ever trust him again?

Sorry your friend experienced this level of dishonesty. Over here in Hong Kong, I have been pleasantly surprised at the level of honesty in the business community. On several occations I have given the wrong denomiation of money, i.e., a $500 bill instead of a $50, and had them return it to me stating I had over paid. Hummmmm, and we are a "Christian" nation.

Wow, I think I would sure find a new dealership to do business with. Darn good thing your friend checked with the factory, amazing what some foks in business will do.
Also food for thought,
On the GVWR sticker on each coach there is a production date stating the month and year the sticker was issued to the coach, wonder what the dealer would have said when your friend asked why the sticker stated 10/05 for a production weight sticker??

At least it's easier right at this time with Montana. If the dealer tells it "just came off the line" and it doesn't have the new nose and Mor/Ryde suspension... you don't even have to call on the VIN #.

A salesman would be "economical with the truth"??? I'm shocked and amazed.
