For the birds

The yard that is. We are not really bird watchers, but it is fun to see all the different birds that come to the feeders, trees, plants, and flowers. The group is always changing. Here in no real order is a list of the ones that have been and left already, here now, and those that will arrive later.

Varied Thrush
Robin
Hummingbirds (several types)
Grosbeaks (evening and black headed)
Pine Siskins
Goldfinch
House Finch
Western Tanager
Sparrows (fox, golden crowned, white crowned, and song)
Towhee
Junco
Chickadee (mountain, chestnut backed, and black capped)
Nuthatch
Blackbirds (cow, and red wing.)
Woodpeckers (northern flicker, pileated, downy, and hairy)
Swallows (tree, and barn)
Ravens
Crows
Band-tailed Pigeon
Ruby crowned Kinglet
Steller Jay
Hawks (red tail, sharp-shinned)
Kestrel
Bald Eagle

Down by the river one may find Kingfisher, Dipper, several ducks and geese.

I have not kept a list. These are the ones I can think of right now.

Love the chorus in the morning. A wonderful world.

It truly is great. We are situated abutting a wetlands so we have many of those same birds and deer, turkeys, fox, opossums, racoons and various sundry specis. Love it! The morning serenade is great. On a warm and humid night, the night sounds are great to go to sleep to, also.

Isn't it great the way God made everything?

I've thought how fortunate we are to have the beauty around us as you have mentioned. Just think what if birds had the personality of mosquitoes?
