Finally Got the Montana Back
As some may know we have alot of issues with our 2015 Montana 3610 Legacy. We have had the Leaf spring bolts shear off. Black Tank Explode. Tires wear in 200 miles. Led lights burn out in 13 months, black molding disintegrated in the sun within a year. Emergency window latch break. Toilet swapped out for the Dometic. While we were in Oregon this year the large slide broke.1200 later we got it back and Immediately the bedroom slide cable driven gear box broke. After 550 spent the bedroom slide out motor was ripped out of the wall due to the cable blocks hitting the motor.... We just went to take another trip and the BIG SLIDE broke again... 4 hours from home.. We got the slide back in as best we could and right away headed back home.. Took it to an RV repair shop and this is what they found. First the metal bracket on the outside wall of the slide was welded and not the right size.. Too small Then the up and down brackets were severely bent. Then the rod that connects the two gear packs was welded and bent... This rod is supposed to be able to slide together.. They had the RV from October 8 to November 20th.. So this 80k coach was "pieced" together from the factory. Using parts most likely from a High Country Lite..welded together and used bent parts....Cost this time?. 2977.00!~!~!!!!

Sounds like my brother's truck...........a lemon from the start. A shame what you've had to deal with for what these trailers cost. If anybody from Keystone reads these forums, I pray they start taking quality control more seriously. I hope DFB you can get through this nightmare and actually use your trailer, without a breakage.

Sorry you had such trouble. I think the HC trailers are ALL cable slides.

All cheap
All these campers use very cheap materials, then charge you like they used the best stuff money can buy. I’m why anyone would buy a brand new one. Good luck.

The only answer to me is more competition.. Like the break up of the telephone company, thor and forest river should be forced to divest..Competition brings better quality and lower prices..

It’s a 6 year old rig and you are the original owner from looking at your posts. I have to wonder how after 6 years of use that’s some of these items that are breaking are just failures from use and not errors or poor manufacturing? Our ‘new build’ house has issues and our old house had issues. The cable slide brackets are all the same there is no such thing as not strong enough metal on those. Reading your list it sounds like component failures not directly the result of a keystone error. As for the current back i. The shop if something wasn’t ‘true’ from the factory wouldn’t you have noticed it prior to today?

Somewhere on here, I saw a video yesterday or so on installing a new cable. It gave very good details on installing, aligning, etc on cable slides. Sounded like if the tension wasn't right, or the cable bracket mis-aligned things break. See if you can find the video.
