Exterior Light under by the battery door

SO, this light has not worked for some time. No big deal, it's been on the GET AROUND TO IT LIST but had no priority.

I was in a truck wash and noticed the light was going on/off as they washed near it. Thinking the issue might be bad ground or bad switch where water might be going around the problem.

Provided as food for thought for others.

PS - Amber door light is now acting up. did notice it sometimes comes on when the door is shut ... glad I love tracking/fixing stuff.

Don't know what the newer models have as far as those lights and switches. But my light under the front of my 2007 began acting up. Sometimes switch worked, sometimes not. Sprayed WD40 all over the switch while working on and off to get the oil into the switch. Started working and was still working years later when I sold it.

I was having problems with that light by the battery door also. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. Looks like salty road water from pulling through the snow to head south the last few winters has corroded the switch contacts. The light is sealed well to the trailer body but water can get behind the lens.
Inexpensive on Amazon, I have a replacement ready to go and now the contacts must have worn the crust off because it’s working, but I’m ready for it to finally give up.

I was thinking of getting inside the light and pulling switched power for and interior work light by the batteries.

If it's the oval shaped light fixture I'm thinking of, it has a cheap China made switch that fails. I bought an exact replacement LED light fixture. Camping World has them in the retail section.

I have replace mine, the whole fixture. It went out after we had the rig about one year. Found a new one on Amazon for around $15.00.
