Availability of Sailun tires

Good news folks. Today I was checking with a neighbor (he worked at the local NTB) asking if NTB would mount tires I didn't buy there. He told me they will for $20 each, mounted and balanced.

I called the store to also check if they would install my TPMS monitors for me. On a whim I asked what tires in ST235/80-16 load range G were offered. I had checked their website and it only showed two choices in load range E.

The salesman said yes they had several, Sailun was a choice. They were the S367. Price is $142 each, $3 more than current Simpletire price. They did not stock them but would only take 1-2 days to have them in hand.

My point to all this is that they are available at a National chain. If one is traveling and has a tire issue it seems reasonable we should be able to find an NTB that works in our plans and get a replacement if needed.

I found that availability of the two main Sailun tires was good. However, with the current interruption of everything, especially stuff from China, that may change. That's why I bought a set of replacements now for installation later. Kind of like loading up on toilet paper.

Are you going to haul them around until you need them? What if you are in Texas and need one tire and they are at home in Lemoore? Seems silly. The Sailuns should outlast the virus.

Actually, I was going to change out the tires in a couple months. The supply chain of goods coming from China, which is most goods, is already disrupted to some degree and will get worse before getting better. I am taking a long road trip in August and wanted to ensure I had fresh tires before that. The current tires are timing out at six years.

128.92 on Amazon. Free shipping.Sailun S637 Trailer Radial Tire-235/80R16 129L Mine were delivered to the house yesterday, within 48 hours of ordering, and the date codes are fresh as of December. Doesn't seem like any availability problem......
Good to know about NTB when we are out and about!

Just curious, what is NTB? Good information on the Amazon angle.

I really like them

For the record I have Sailuns on my Montana. I have recommended them to others.
At this point in time, in consideration of what is now transpiring, when I need new tires I think that I will go for a G rated ST tire made in the USA.
Where there is a choice I will pay the upside and go with a USA product.
My opinion yes, but I can make a difference in who gets my money.
Enough said....

Why would anybody buy a set of China made tires? Especially with all that’s going on now. Doesn’t an American company like Goodyear make as good of a tire?
