Water pump

When filling our 5th wheel trailer with water, does it (the water) flow through the water pump whether or not it is turned on?

No, the water does not flow through the pump when you are using the "Fill" switch on the shore input water line. Bob Rohrman posted a diagram of the water lines in the convenience center but darned if I can find it right now.

In the diagram, the valve I labelled 'water tank fill' is the one that you turn to fill the fresh tank, and when in the normal position, the city water serves your plumbing system. The blue lines in the drawings of the valves is the normal water flow. Filling the tank with the fill valve completely bypasses the water pump. Clicking on the drawing will enlarge it on your computer.
