Quartzsite Picture
Here is the first "official" picture of the MOC group at Quartzsite. We hope to have another one that was taken during our pot luck later.

Bob and Sharon,
Thank you for posting the picture. Can't wait to see the one he hopefully took yesterday! Got to get Big Red in the picture!
We have had a wonderful time. I hope everyone else has too. It was so nice seeing everyone yesterday at the little get together. Where did the time go?! It just flew!
Thanks again.

Looks like an Indian Pow Wow, or better yet a covered wagon campsite.....Have a great time and send more pictures for us that couldn't attend.

Okay, who's the tall guy with the camera, or did you send it up on a balloon? Wish we were there too!

I was wondering the same thing, Don, about how they got that photo! Roy is already making plans for our trip there, though it may be a few years yet!

Don, a guy flys over the rigs in an ultralight and takes the pictures.
Judy, the palm trees are in front of the rig on the top left.
Thanks to all who came last night for the cocktail party and pizza. We had a great time visiting with all.
A special thanks to Dennis and Mary Kay for being our Wagon Master for the last two weeks.

Where are all the trees..how come everything is brown???''Just did some homework on Quartzsite, Arz..One of their claims to fame is that beginning in November 175,000 RV's cram themselves into 79 Rv parks .Sounds like a throughly disagreeable place..

I wish someone would help us find those trees! Just some tall stick like things out in this part of the world.
Richfaa... We do not cram ourselves into 79 RV parks. There are many thousands of acres of BLM land that we camp on. The few RV parks in town are really crowded this time of year but who would want to stay there when you have all this other great land available!
Ronstan.... Look carefully and you'll see the electrical connection. The water and sewer is harder to find since it is very mobile! About 10 days after we arrived we called a sewer truck and a water truck to come by and take care of our needs. Unfortunately they were not in the picture. Let me tell you that the little Honda 2000 generators work great!
The picture is as follows:
Upper left = Gofnuts >> Renee and Michael
Upper middle= rlwhit >> Dick and Toni
Right = FireTrucker and FireTruckerWife >> Bob and Sharon
Lower right = HamRad and PERetired >> Dennis and Mary Kay
Lower left = dhenry >> Doug and Sharon
We had a great deal of fun. Ran out of time to do everything but looking forward to doing it again sometime. Hope everyone is able to do Quartzsite at least once in their RVing life.
HamRad

Here is the second picture that I promised. We were lucky enough to have that little parasail fly over during our Pot Luck Dinner. We had alerted him that we wanted a picture with the Big Red Truck in it, and the weather was perfect for him to fly on Saturday night. So everything worked out the way we had wished.

Would that BLM land have full hookups.Have to admit we are full hookup folks, all the comforts, That is whay we got the 40K + camper.Did the backpacking camping, tent camping, Popup camping , etc.Quartzsite IS on our list of places to check out and we will but from what we have Googled it may be a very short stay. Like the way you circled the wagons.Did that once in a campground our local camping group was obliged to stay in overnight but did it for self protection.

Thanks for the pictures and update on the fun you all were having. Next winter we are planning to be south, and while we may or may not take the Montana to Q, we will be close enough for day trips and seeing MOC folks.

When you drive through Quartzsite I think you will find a lot more expensive units there than our Montanas. Many, many large motorhomes. Your 40K+ unit also runs on batteries, has large holding tanks as well as a fresh water tank and that is why they sell generators so you can boondock.
Sharon
Thanks for posting the pictures. Just makes me really envious. We will make it next year, God willing.
Happy trails...................

You non-westerners have obviously never seen or heard of a Current Bush. We have them all over out here in the western deserts. They come in two varieties, North American and Western European. You need special adapters for the Western European varieties.

Current Bush????? Say what???? Got a generator..Boondocking days are in the past. We are sure that boondocking is loads of fun and we love to see folks having fun..But we are ..no boondocking campers..Full hookups only....However we are looking foward to spending some time at Quartzsite..in a fullhookup site... Next year we will be in the Lake Havasu area for awhile.

No boondocking? You're going to miss out on a lot of fun.
Who said boondocking is tough...I see that TV and Directway satellites! Maybe next year for us.

Boondocking is..No satellites, no generators, no A/C.Maybe I need a definition of MOC'ers boondocking.Got a feeling it will be a little different than our definition. When we went boondocking we actually went out to the boondocks, no nothing..
