AC issues

We have a 2005 3280RL all of a sudden the AC runs every 20 minutes for about a minute. I Turn off system on thermostat. Put fan on auto and put temperature to 90. It still comes on . It still runs till maybe pressure builds and shuts off. There is not a separte breaker for the AC it is tied in to the main 50amp disconnect. Any ideas? I am afraid to leave that it may heat up and cause a fire. Any info would be appreciated.

Hard telling what may be going on. Someone has obviously been messing with things if it’s wired directly to the 50 amp main. You could unplug the shore power cord for safety, turn off the main & disconnect the a/c’s hot from the main, then reconnect the shore power cord & turn the main back on.

Has anyone ever cleaned the coils on your AC? I'm assuming you've cleaned the filters, but after that number of years the coils could be packed with dirt and crud.

Sounds like what mine was doing. Replaced the control board and bingo! It was back to normal.

Control board is in the unit it'self, usually accessible from the roof although I've seen one on an older rig that you could get too from below..

Access was from inside the 5th. Remove air filter cover and it’s right there. One plug with 6(?) wires.
